Google AdWords is an online advertising service, operating on a pay per click model, which allows companies to advertise to customers at the exact moment they are searching for the things which you offer. Google AdWords is an effective way for your company to successfully develop a digital strategy and help attract and retain online customers. Could you be benefiting from advertising on Google? Check out the advantages which AdWords has:

1. Costs are controllable
By having a daily budget and only paying each time a customer clicks your ad, costs of the campaign are easily manageable so you only pay what you can afford. You don’t lose out by paying for advertising campaigns without being able to track where the money’s going and how much you will end up spending. With the AdWords interface you decide a daily budget and if your ad reaches this before the day is over the ad will stop showing.

2. Don’t lose out to high payers
Despite what you may think, higher payers are not always the winners in Google AdWords by getting the highest pegged spots, but smaller companies or those with smaller budgets also have the opportunity to perform well. The ads which are shown are based on high relevance and quality, in spite of the company’s budget so time spent on good research is time well spent!

3. Measurable
You will no longer suffer from spending fortunes on advertising and not seeing where the money goes. AdWords allows you to effectively manage how your ads are doing, down to the amount of clicks, impressions and conversion rates so that you are always showing the ad which will bring the most customers to your website. On top of this, Google AdWords allows you to see which keywords and ads are performing well and which ones aren’t to allow you to get the most out of your campaign.

4. Relevant
Google Adwords allows you to target the potential customers who you want to target such as choosing the geographic location to offer your ad in along with the relevant language. You can also offer your ad at specific hours of the day and even chose what device; desktop, smartphone or tablet, which you want to focus more budget on. These features will allow you to target your potential customers effectively in order to increase your conversion rate.

So how does it work?
1. Choose keywords and phrases that describe your company or products
2. When customers search these keywords your ad will appear
3. Customers click your ad, visit your site and help you make money

This all sounds good and AdWords is a very effective and successful advertising strategy. However it is important to consider factors which may restrict your success. Google does not disclose other company’s accounts so you can’t benchmark your AdWords account which makes it difficult to see how well you are doing compared to your competitors. And remember, you will have to pay for each click on your ad, even if it doesn’t generate any revenue for you through customer purchases, however it will still help increase your brand awareness.

Sound tempting? If you think Google AdWords seems like something you could benefit from why not give it a go. If you’re not sure where to start or scared to venture out on your own, why not give us a shout, we have lots of experience in the area and are always happy to help.
