Hi, I’m Georgia. I have recently joined the Glowmetrics team as a Digital Analytics Assistant.
My journey into this role began with an undergraduate degree in microbiology, which led me to work in a testing lab during the COVID-19 pandemic. Towards the end of the pandemic, I transitioned to a role in private healthcare, where I found myself increasingly interested in business management, motivating me to pursue a master’s degree in marketing. My strong analytical skills from my microbiology background, coupled with a keen interest in Digital Marketing naturally drew me into the field of Digital Analytics.
What is your favourite film?
I would have to say “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” (Disney Horse Movie). I love it for its animation, the way it tells a compelling story without words and the fact that it can make you both laugh and cry. Silence of the Lambs is a close second…
What’s the No. 1 most played song on your Spotify?
“Mariners Apartment Complex” by Lana Del Rey
What’s your favourite way to unwind or de-stress after a long day?
Going for a long walk followed by watching The Kardashians or playing animal crossing on the switch.
What skill would you like to master?
Google Big Query 🤓
What is something you learned in the last week?
I learned about Ophiuchus, often referred to as the “Serpent Bearer,” a lesser-known constellation associated with the notion of a 13th zodiac sign. Its dates fall between November 29 and December 17, and it’s situated near the celestial equator. Ophiuchus is linked to Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine, known for his healing abilities. This connection to healing and transformation has intrigued some astrologers, leading them to explore the idea of incorporating Ophiuchus as a 13th zodiac sign within the traditional Western zodiac system.
What (if any!) similarities have you found between Digital Analytics / Digital Marketing and your background in Microbiology?
Surprisingly, there are parallels between digital analytics/digital marketing and my background in microbiology. Both fields involve delving into data, identifying patterns, and drawing meaningful insights. Marketing in general however, allows for a bit more creativity which I enjoy.
